My husband is straight from Scotland so when we
were in the process of making our wedding plans we decided that a
bagpiper would be the perfect touch to our special day. We were married
at a small restaurant in Hollywood and we had Max begin bagpiping from
afar before I walked down the isle. Friends later told me they got very
emotional as soon as they heard the music in the distance. Max then
lead the way for me down the aisle, bagpiping the entire way. Along with
the Maid of Honor and the Best Man, Max stood beside us as we took our
vows. When the ceremony was over he resumed playing and led us back down
the isle. He was extremely talented and professional and we would hire
him again without a second thought!

As a young piper, Max played for my
son’s
bar mitzvah in 2006. He masterfully marched the congregation from the
synagogue
to the luncheon hall in New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood
and got everyone dancing with Scottish and Jewish
tunes.
Max is a good piper, a good musician, and a real professional. Highly
recommended.

When I met Max on my first day
of college, I could tell that he was
enthusiastic about everything bagpiping. Throughout the four years we
worked and played together in the College of Wooster Pipe Band, Max was
always willing and able to play at various
events across our campus, even if others did not want to. His continued
dedication will serve him well and will hopefully allow him to keep
playing for all types of events, formal or informal. Since joining the
L.A. Scots Pipe Band, Max's playing abilities have risen each and every
year and his work ethic and practicing habits have also increased his
experience level and technique. I've always admired Max's knowledge of
tunes not often heard, but which work well in any
type of event for which he is playing. His experience with timing,
traveling to and from gigs, and courtesy with clients makes Max an
ideal choice for any event.

When
I first joined the pipe band at the College of Wooster and didn’t know
anyone, Max was one of
the first people to make me feel welcomed into the group. He is
exceptionally friendly and charismatic. As time passed I realized that
Max held himself to a very high standard; he strove to sound and play
his absolute best, no matter the audience. He is an enthusiastic and
energetic performer who does everything he can to meet the needs of his
clients. He is exceptionally professional and encourages similar
attitudes from his fellow band members. When I began to struggle with
some
of the music in band I turned to Max for assistance and he was more
then willing to offer a helping hand. He took time out of his day to
give me the extra guidance I needed, and he was amazingly patient and
flexible. He was more concerned with my mastery of the music than with
confining the lesson to any particular period of time. Max is a very
attentive and
dedicated teacher, and takes pride in his students' accomplishments and
does everything he can to allow them to succeed. Max is a great
performer, a great leader and a great teacher and I would recommend him
for any situation.

I heard Max
play bagpipes a couple of times at my place of work,
Santa Monica High School. On Saint Patrick's day one year Max walked
around campus at lunch playing tunes, and students of all backgrounds
were
drawn to the music and his willingness to preform in front of a group of
students. I knew right away I wanted bagpipes played at my mother's
memorial service, which unfortunately was coming in the near future.
Being of
European descent myself, I love the Celtic sounds and thought Max, being
a
student at the time, would be just the person to perform at the
ceremony.
Max was on time for my
mother's service, respectful, and
professional. My mother lived with love, color, and passion
and I felt that Max's playing of "Amazing Grace" and other Gaelic Aires
was the perfect
addition to our celebration of her life. Thank you Max from me and
the entire family for an
excellent performance at a very emotional ceremony.
